What?A research related literature is an overview of what has been previously been published on a specific topic by experts and researchers. It is a systematic summary of publications on a certain topic.A research related study is a review of all studies, investigations, or inquiries on a particular study field. It is focused about reviewing or studying existing works carried out on a particular research area.
WhereIt examines materials relevant to a specific field of study. There are various publications to find literatures which include:
- books
-professional
- journals
- newspapers
- magazines
- encyclopedia
Empirical studies, research findings, and experiments are the only ones included. It can be found in various materials which includes:
- published and unpublished theses
- previous research papers
- manuscripts
- dissertations
- scholarly articles

How to distinguish the two?

Research Related LiteratureLiterature includes everything published about a given topic from various sources. When determining a related study's literature, one must look for relevant and reliable sources.According to Stevenson University (n.d.), the following criteria are used to assess reliability:1. AuthorityIdentify who is the author and their credentials.2. AccuracyCheck if the information is biased and has proper citations. Determine whether these affect research conclusions.3. CoverageIdentify if the information are relevant to your field of research and if it meets your needs.4. CurrencyDetermine if the sources are up to date (published 5 years ago to recent years). This comes especially to topics that are constantly evolving such as technology and medicine.

Research Related Literature and Research Related Studies both gives context, identifies gaps, highlights flaws in previous studies, and ensures that the research has not been done already. It examines relevant sources to explain how the research fits into the current body of knowledge.
